Listening to a radio station on the way back, I think it was talk sport. They had a guy from the People Newspaper I think on (Sorry about these 2 facts) What I definitely heard was that a player was signed after the transfer deadline and the F.A. had waivered the deadline by a bit because of the amount of paperwork received by the F.A. near the close of the deadline. The player was not named but it was said he played in 1 game already and that was a victory. Well there is only 1 player in my view this could be ... Pandiani. Also said the club that was beat were closely looking at the rules. Did anyone else hear this. If this did happen and the deadline was waivered, what could be done?As we know he was the last signing of the transfer window so I can`t see it being anyone else. Just don`t be suprised to see this in the People tomorrow. |

By who? didn't the FA bend the rules because of the amount of paper work? I thought the F.A could only deduct points |

i dont know whether anyone has a rulebook to hand? signing after the transfer window is breaking the rules and the F.A are probably gonna take a strict course of action. they couldnt deduct points could they? |

Surely if there was any doubt about his signing, the FA would not have allowed him to start on wednesday or today?? Not sure how it works. but we also gained international clearence for him to play. so who gives this? and i assume BCFC have to prove to whoever that he is their player before this clearence is granted? |

It was the F.A who allowed it to happen so I doubt they can punish us. It was probably a matter of minutes or something due to the amount of paperwork and someone wants to cause more of an upset. The media do NOT want us to have Pandiani do they |

Cant see the F.A Allowing him to play if we did anything wrong, They have to sanction all paperwork afterall and it seems that they knew what was going on. If anything it will be the F.A left with eggs on their faces for allowing a player to be signed and cleared after the deadline had been passed. More than likely due the amount of paperwork we started faxing before mignight with the rest following on shortly after. |

As I understand it, the FA's fax machine was busy receiving faxes from other clubs. So the blues faxes couldn't be faxed thro until there fax machine was free... obviously. So it appears the time on the faxes from blues are after midnight. But the FA would have know this already when they ok'd the signing. Sounds like somebody else has got wind of this and is trying to open a can of worms. Wether it's the papers or Southampton? We will see. But u know our luck with these things, even thou its not our fault...... |

Unbelievable in this age of communication that it is still all done by fax and that the FA have only one fax machine (If that is true!).... Who's fault is that? We can't be held responsible for the archaic equipment at FA HQ.... What's wrong with scanning and email? Apparently we were in the queue behind Spurs with Reid and Dawson.... I doubt that Southampton will be looking at this as a means to deduct points.... But apparently Blackbum tried to steal the deal at the last second.... I wonder who tipped them off about our interest in Pandiani? |

There has been cases like this in the past...............as long as the paperwork was started to be sent before the deadline, there should'nt be a problem. It's hardly the clubs fault the fa are incompetent buffoons. |

Blues apparently have the transmission slips to prove when the faxes were sent - it's the time they were sent that matters. The FA approved this move, and international clearance was also given. The People - part of the Mirror group of newspapers - are at it again. Can you imagine this furore if he'd signed for Manchester City? |

PANDIANI TRANSFER SHOCKER! Feb 6 2005 HE MISSED DEADLINE By Alan Nixon And Andy Dunn BIRMINGHAM CITY new boy Walter Pandiani signed AFTER the transfer deadline in a sensation that will rock football. And the shock news could lead to calls for Birmingham's game against Southampton in midweek to be replayed and for Pandiani to be sent back to Deportivo La Coruna. The Uruguayan striker was also in the City starting line-up at Old Trafford yesterday. The deal for Pandiani - nicknamed The Rifle - only hit the target at the Premier League's offices after the Monday midnight cut-off point. Pandiani's switch to England was held up because of the lateness of talks and another move - Michael Dawson's from Forest to Spurs - being completed before the official deadline...but was nonetheless still allowed to go through. Under normal rules Pandiani's loan switch from the Spanish side should have been called off as the window had officially shut. However, the Premier League accepted that the move was in progress at the time and Pandiani went on to make a scoring debut against Southampton on Wednesday. But now Saints could ask for the game to be replayed on the grounds that Pandiani was ineligible. The matter may go as high as FIFA. The SP can reveal the drama behind the late move that is causing major worry inside the corridors of power - and will have Saints and others asking serious questions. Pandiani's transfer only started rolling on Monday evening after Deportivo stalled on letting him join Italian side Fiorentina. Birmingham City had missed out on Craig Bellamy and failed to stop Henri Camara going to Southampton so they were grateful when Pandiani was offered to them by agent Francis Martin. Pandiani's Spanish agent brokered a deal in a rush and the paperwork was hurriedly put together at La Coruna to send to the Premier League HQ in London. Birmingham officials sent their forms through too, but by this time midnight was drawing close. In a further twist, the Premier League fax machine was occupied just before midnight as Tottenham hurried through the move for Nottingham Forest's Dawson. Dawson's advisers confirmed that his transfer was registered at 11.58pm, with the last part of a four-page fax transmitted with two minutes to spare. And the Premier League website said Dawson's deal was the last to go through before midnight, with no mention of Pandiani. Sources in Spain are adamant that the paperwork did not arrive at Premier HQ until 12.30am - which is technically too late. Premier League spokesman Phillip French said: "The paperwork did arrive shortly after midnight but that was because the fax machine was jammed. This was explained to Mike Foster (Premier League secretary) in good time and the transfer was approved." Can`t believe the fa hasn`t got more than 1 fax machine. In theory 19 clubs could have tried to register players at 11.50. |

The transfer has been approved by the Premier League/FA. And because none of this has been covered up, I'd be very surprised to see it overturned. If nothing else, surely the Premier League will have to install more fax machines in its offices. Christ, they earn enough money... |

I would say if the FA approved it and he has international clearance then this is a nothing story, no more transfers to speculate on so they have to fill the rag with some old rubbish. |

"but was nonetheless still allowed to go through." so even the Pimple admits that the FA okayed the deal! This is a nothing story. The window is over, the gossip has dried up and the Pimple has nothing better to write about. At the end of the day, the FA approved the transfer and then gave international clearance for him to play. None of the other papers have picked up on this and it's also missing from the web. Bunch of stirring little f*&(Rs at a rag again. The press will always have an axe to grind with us because we're owned by one of their rivals - The Sport - and they HATE to admit that they're now in the same league as this publication. |

This wasn't mentioned on Radio 5 this morning, only plenty about Chelsea & Ashley Cole. It will be interesting to see if the clowns on Sky Sport pick it up though |

what i find strang about this is if this had been the blake transfer nothing would of been said but the fact that it's Pandiani (a world class player ) the people want to cause trouble for us. as said in another post if this was man ure or chelsea or asenal nothing would of been said. the media hate for us to have real quality they think who do we think we are getting players like this, they have nothing else to do now that the window is closed so lets make trouble for someone and the people are one of the worst for it. |

Not all the media dislike BCFC. it seems though the Trinity group / Mirror in particular have a problem with us. i have no idea why this is perhaps one of the people running it are either a Viler or a Blackburn fan ;) http://www.ketupa.net/trinity1.htm |
